Life is finite and the drama infinite Photo by Engin Akyurt Our life a blur And we are full of unnecessary fire and stir Our thinking warped, missing the core Incessant hate and trolling, slush flows Half of planet suffering is real and not a lore Others live a life of plenty-drollery and flummery galore Human consciousness gone to sleep and it snores Earth a sorry looking landscape far from a happy green fur World sundered by wars, calamities, and poverty- it’s frightfully sour Perfected the art of dehumanizing, shamelessly we roar With increase in cancel culture, othering, and slur Disillusionment and strife creep in, limbs and eyes sore Unable to shake off that languor Getting used to a slow burning world Completely in the chokehold of selfishness, there’s no elixir The residue of life remains, despair for evermore Thank you for reading!💚

An Ode to the Summer gone by

Image
Some summers are magic                                               Photo by Ankur Khandelwal on Unsplash The sun is boiling and the heat unbearable. I’m staring at a longish hot summer ahead. Back in the day, I recall, I welcomed summer. Living in a valley surrounded by the Himalayas, summertime was a hoot. It came after a long, cold, and harsh winter. The blanket of clouds slowly split wide open to give us a clear view of the sparkling blue sky- the weather balmy and the air sweet. Ah! What a feeling! Tired of sitting mostly at home in the winter months, we couldn’t wait to go outdoors to make full use of the change in weather. Carpe diem. Since the summer temperature was mild, there was no need for air conditioners, not even ceiling fans. Just a humble table fan and we were good. We received ice-cold drinkable water spurting from taps. Thanks to the melting snow from the mountains. Life was incredibly easy! Our family and extended family arranged picnics whenever possible. It was

Let’s start afresh with a spring in our step and a song

Sign of the Times

With the digital landscape evolving, people are acing it and rocking it                                                                Photo by Sam Lion on Pexels We are alive in a world fraught with wars, climate threats, and the looming fear of slowdown. We must consider this a blessing. And to feel alive and kicking, hits differently. Just look at the sign of the times — the roaring and inviting digital culture. A carnival, a business place, action for news and politics, and the list goes on — all rolled into one. If we manage to understand the workings of this world and become a part of it( from a business point of view), we can look at life through a rosy prism. It’s encouraging how people from all walks of life and all age groups are using the digital platform as a soapbox to showcase their passion and talent to reach their audience. An extremely successful and versatile Indian actress of yesteryear, Zeenat Aman recently relaunched herself on Instagram. And voila! She’s nailing

First Snow

The new snow of the season is always special                                                   Photo by Boris Pavlikovsky on Pexels Pin-drop silence on a wintry night Enough a sign of snowfall in silence By the morning the snowflakes cover the earth The first snow of the season brings joy and mirth Painting the trees and roofs with nature's white brush Everything looks new, lovely, and fresh Shimmering icicles are an added joy For children, they are nature's toy And the sun comes out with a happy face Showering us with warm rays From my window, I see snow and sun in one frame Covering the earth in their drapes Everyone is bundled up and cheerful, the mood is sweet Sipping my steaming coffee, I enjoy the scene To walk on fresh powder, people come out in droves Some are eager to hit and schuss the slopes Shoveling snow is fun and a chore Snowman and snowfall fights in store A new hope, a happy tiding, and my heart glows White and gold this painting rolls
